With support from the USG’s IDEA-NEW, around 300 hectares of fruit orchards in eastern Afghanistan are expected to produce more than 900 metric tons of marketable fruits including apricot, pomegranate, guava, apple and citruses during the fruit harvest season beginning in late April and continuing until the end of 2010.
