New Talc Association Established in Nangarhar

Talc miners and traders from across Nangarhar province found the industry’s first ever business Association at a ceremony held in Jalalabad on January 12, 2010. During the event, more than 250 members elected Muhammad Rahim Karimzai as their Director.

Training Program on Seedling Production Benefits Nurseries across Eastern Afghanistan

IDEA-NEW launched a weeklong training on seedling production for fruit tree nurseries across the eastern region. A total of 240 private nursery operators from Nangarhar, Kunar and Laghman were trained on modern techniques in seedling production.

USAID’s IDEA-NEW helps 150 farming in producing 30 MT mung bean

With support from USAID’s IDEA-NEW, 150 farmer families are producing 30 tons of improved varieties of mung bean seed, Maash 2008 (NM - 94), and Mai 2008 (NM – 92), on 15 hectares of land in 21 districts across eastern Afghanistan.
